Are you really ready for Pride Month 2009?
Just asking because there’s so much happening this year that you had best get your calendar out NOW and start blocking out dates for the following Pride 2009 events:

“Strike out with Pride” Bowling Tournament – If you think gay bingo is a hoot, you’re going to LOVE gay bowling. Join us at the private and super comfy Seven10 bowling lounge at ACME Bowl in Tukwila. This ultra-modern, swanky lounge provides Seattle Pride bowlers an intimate, upscale bowling experience. While knocking down pins, you'll enjoy food and beverage service from the restaurant and lounge, you’ll fixate on the 150" projection screens at the end of each pair of lanes, and sit on couches so comfortable, you'll forget it’s your turn. At “Strike Out for Pride” you will also enjoy unlimited billiards play as well as bowling. The Strike out with Pride - Bowling Tournament is definitely the place to be. Sponsored by ACME Bowl and Seattle Out and Proud.
Sunday, June 7th 7:00pm

Pride IdolPride Idol @ R-Place – Karaoke on steroids? Oh hell no. This is the real deal. Some of Seattle’s best unknown talent slugging it out on stage for all to see, hear and cheer. Plus you get to party at R Place, work out your best moves on the pole and text vote to Verizon Wireless on who you want to see crowned Pride Idol 2009. Sweet!
Tuesdays, 9:30pm

Bat-N-Rouge Softball –It's bats vs. balls & dykes vs. drag queens...how All American is that?.. Come and play, or, if you're more of the supporter type, be there with your best cheerleader chant and your prettiest pompoms!

Cruisy-T’s Pride Cruise –OMG! Hundreds of gorgeous guys and gals on
a boat for four hours dancing to great music while downing designer drinks. Do you think some of them might let their hair (or guard) down or take off their shirts and tops? Just saying.

Fashion Show – Queer Eye never looked this good. This is an event where it’s de rigueur that you primp and preen--and practice your best routine--because you never know who you’ll see and by whom be seen!
Saturday, June 20th 7:00pm

Half Price Books – Remember Stonewall – ‘It was forty years ago today….a bunch of queens taught the world we’re gay’ Oops, sorry. That’s Sgt. Stonewall. 2009 Seattle Pride Special Guests
Jacinta and DJ E Ric Medina
Aboard the SOaP float!

JacintaThe Electric Universe will wind it's way down 4th Ave on June 28 as special musical guest Jacinta performs on top of the SOaP Float. Setting the tone for the parade, Jacinta is a consummate performer who, unlike many current artists, is a true creative force writing, producing and performing her own inventive and infectious material. Get set to have your dance buttons pushed, your entertainment expectations exceeded and your inhibitions unraveled as Jacinta pushes the Electric Universe enjoyment envelope at Pride.

E Ric MedinaAlso aboard the SOaP Float, keeping things pumping, popping and pulsing, and will be DJ E Ric Medina. Originally from Los Angeles, E Ric now calls both Seattle and LA home and his stylish musical repertoire reflects his finely honed and hugely popular West Coast sensibilities. Be warned: You will not be able to stop yourself from moving your hips and raising your hands into the air, so don't even try. Because resistance to the combined energy spinning off of E Ric and Jacinta will be futile, just resign yourself in advance to having the best Pride of your life.

Become a sponsor of Seattle Pride 2009, the ultimate target market!

Becoming a SOaP Sponsor is the first step to making your mark and contributing to today’s important and historical movement towards Equality – while opening the doors of your business to a larger/new audience of loyal GLBT/GLBT-friendly patrons.

Did You Know?

  • GLBT customers are loyal to a gay-friendly business and are more likely to spend repeatedly where they know their business is welcome. With over a half trillion dollars a year in spending power, the GLBT community is one of the largest minority markets in the country! – GLBT Business Alliance
  • "The purchasing power of the GLBT community is estimated today to be a massive $641 billion, with projections reaching $2 trillion by 2012. Add in the buying power of the millions of family members and friends who show fierce allegiance to fair-minded corporations and you get a message that no company can afford to ignore: equality is good for business," – Jody M. Huckaby, Executive Director of PFLAG.
  • The Seattle Times (Thursday, November 16, 2006) reported that 12.9% of all Seattle residents are gay or bisexual, second only to San Francisco.
