Verizon Wireless and The Stranger Present:
The Stranger's 2nd Annual Pride Parade Awards

Last year the Stranger launched the Pride Parade Awards because we wanted to do something to help make the Seattle’s annual Pride Parade bigger, better, and more spectacular. We wanted to give folks an incentive to pull out the stops, to go over the top, and create eye-popping floats and costumes. We’re thrilled to announce that the Pride Parade Awards are back—with big cash prizes for the best floats or marching contingents in this year's downtown Pride Parade on Sunday June 29th—and with a brand new category, The People’s Choice Pride Parade Award.

  • 1st Prize—$2,000
  • 2nd Prize—$1,000
  • 3rd Prize—$500
  • Best Individual Costume—$500
  • People’s Choice Award—$500

The 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Best Individual Costume Prizes will be awarded by a panel of gay pride parade experts assembled by the Stranger. The People’s Choice Award will be bestowed—via text-message voting—by the rabble that attends the pride parade. All prizes—and nifty trophies!—will be handed out at the Seattle Center!
