Ever Thought About Getting Involved?
Here is a great story of two volunteers making a lasting freindship!

Kristen and Rachel met during Seattle Pride® 2006 working at the merchandise booth.

"That weekend we each signed up for one shift but had so much fun that we stayed late and volunteered extra days. Kristin drove and I took the bus, she offered me a ride home but said we had to stop at a bar first to pickup concert tickets. That fall we carpooled together for night classes at BCC and became inseparable. We got engaged a day apart from each other, she was my bridesmaid and I will be hers this October. I have met many wonderful people working with Pride not the least of which is Kristin who is without a doubt one of my closest friends and someone I love dearly. She rocks!"

Grand Marshal positions are among the highest honor bestowed by Seattle’s LGBT community. Nominees are selected based on their commitment and contributions to the community.

There are four Grand Marshal Positions available –one male and one female; an Honorary Grand Marshal; and an Honorary Grand Marshal - Organization.

The Male Grand Marshal title is awarded to a self-identified gay, bisexual or transgender man and the Female Grand Marshal title is awarded to a self-identified lesbian, bisexual or transgender woman. Both must be residents of King or surrounding counties. The position of Honorary Grand Marshal is awarded to a self-identified heterosexual, non-transgender man or woman who has shown outstanding dedication to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender causes or to the LGBT community. There is no residency restriction. The Honorary Grand Marshal - Organization may be any organization that has significantly contributed to the positive image or outlook of and has supported the Seattle gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community.

Jeannette Oliver and Quinn Freymuth join the Seattle Out and Proud Board of directors

Jeanette Oliver
As a previous Regional Director for the American Heart Association my responsibility involved Event Planning and Fund Development.

During my time with A.H.A., I directed several large and notable events including: Heart Walk, GRFW-Go Red For Women, Jump Rope For Heart and the Heart Ball. Presently, as the Branch Sales Manager for Todays Office Professionals, my perspective on having adequate and hands-on employees keeps me focused on helping our clients get the job done!

I’m excited and look forward to participating with Seattle Out and Proud as a Board Member. I hope to develop a long term operational plan for logistics and volunteer base management.

Quinn Freymuth
I was born and raised in Seattle. In that time I've volunteered in many different arena's ranging from the environment, human injustices in developing countries, the homeless, and the well being and rights of numerous animals. I have enjoyed being a part of the gay community for the past 20 years and feel as though it is now time to give back to this ever growing society. I look forward to being an active member of the Seattle Out And Proud Board where I hope to help create positive change and wide spread acceptance of same sex life styles.
